Hello, my name is Andres Salazar, and I’m a storyteller. For the last 6 years I’ve been focused on comics and graphic novels, and previous to that I wrote and directed a short film, After Cheri and wrote some plays in Santa Barbara, CA.
I wrote and colored the graphic novel series, Pariah, Missouri (with the Amazing artist J.L. Pescador) and created a Children’s book series, The Adventure Bear Squad.
Currently, I have a number of projects that I am working on that Patreons will get to see before anyone else, they are as follows:
Shangri-La Estates is a new graphic novel (200 pages) telling the story of a young boy and mother picking up the pieces after a divorce in rural Arkansas in the 1980’s. It’s a Southern tale of Trailer Parks, Pro-wrestling, GI Joes and Dungeons and Dragons.
Nagual, is a novel involving a mysterious, ancient American civilization, think Aztecs meets Frank Herbert’s Dune. I’ve been working on this story for literally 20 years. I’m extremely excited about this. (Logo design by Paul Roman Martinez. Character sketches by Alfredo Bedolla)
Adventure Bear Squad: Cave of Dinosaurs, is the third book in the children’s book series.
The Art of Comics YouTube channel, I perform deep-dive/analysis on some of the best comics, art styles and business of comics. 1-2 episodes a week. Part Informational, part vlog on my journey creating comics.
And I also have a sundry of comics/graphic novels that I am pitching with collaborating artists and hoping to get published: Calexico, Le Centre, Thug Life and Weapons of Mass Destruction.
