Hello everyone!  The weekend is almost here and I’m sure many of you are looking forward to your plans.  Since I started writing and creating full-time I work just about everyday, all day so Saturday’s do not have that same magical feel as they used to.  One of the things I will be doing is promoting this Kickstarter and I hope you can help me with it.

We are less than 40% with 2 weeks to go, not a good position to be in and the future of SpaceBear is becoming uncertain.  I am using all the resources at my disposal as I have with my previous books, but most reviewers in the children’s book world want hard-copies to review, which are not available.  Libraries and schools can not promote or approve something that they can’t hold in their hands.  I believe the biggest issue is Kickstarter itself, SpaceBear is very far down the list, and I have only received 18% of my funding from backers browsing Kickstarter.  That number should be closer to 45-50%.  If the campaign fails, it’s not the end of the world, but darn it, if we can avoid that, let’s do it!!

This is my plan for a 3-prong attack:

  • Raise SpaceBear visibility on Kickstarter. We need SpaceBear to be #1 on the list of the children’s book or publishing section. Here’s how we do it. Please comment on the MAIN project page. Send people over here, so that unique IP adformaldresses come. The more traffic we get, the higher on the list we are, which then random people browsing will see it.
  • Raise awareness outside of Kickstarter and FaceBook.  I have greatly appreciated many of you for sharing links to SpaceBear on facebook,  I am now in the camp that facebook generally does not generate new backers, there’s just too much going on there.  “Likes” does not equate to dollar signs, and right now we need over $3,000.  I have someone spending over $250 on facebook ads for SpaceBear.  Over $40,000 people saw the post.  Zero backers.  So, If you know anyone with a website, blog, youtube channel, whatever online, please contact them, or let me contact them and maybe we can get something up on their site.  We need this to hit Reddit, Digg, all that stuff.
  • Personal contact. I do this all day, I promise you if you have seen me in person, I’ve given you a SpaceBear bookmark and told you about the kickstarter. Now I need your help, my awesome backers. Via email or in person, mention the project to people with kids, families, or people who like sci-fi.

We can do this!  It can and WILL happen!
